Speech by the Chairman of the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority in light of current events
ABU DHABI, 1st March / WAM / His Excellency Ali Saeed Al Neyadi, Chairman of the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, said in a speech in light of the current events: During the past two days, the United Arab Emirates witnessed a coordinated national response in which various concerned parties participated, which dealt with developments with high professionalism and in accordance with the highest standards of national readiness and readiness, and in complete harmony and integration among all responding parties.
His Excellency added: We affirm our appreciation for the efforts of all field teams that performed their duty with professionalism and national responsibility, embodying a high level of readiness, tight national coordination, and clear integration of roles, which confirmed the ability of our national system to deal promptly and orderly in accordance with approved plans and precise procedures.
His Excellency explained that from the first moment, the national emergency, crisis and disaster management system was activated and operational readiness levels were raised based on a continuous and comprehensive assessment of risks and threats, ensuring the protection of lives, the preservation of national gains and the continuity of vital services without being affected. What has been achieved today is the result of cumulative institutional work, based on proactive planning, joint national exercises, and building sustainable capabilities that enhance the country’s resilience in the face of various scenarios.
He said: In this context, we value the awareness of community members, both citizens and residents, and their commitment to official directives and instructions, and the community cohesion, trust, and cooperation they have demonstrated that reflects the spirit of responsibility that characterizes UAE society. This cohesion between institutions and society constitutes a fundamental pillar of the national preparedness system, and enhances our ability to manage challenges with stability and balance.
He added: This stage has proven once again that the UAE has a well-established national preparedness system that operates according to a clear governance framework and a coordinated response at the highest levels. We confirm that the competent authorities are closely following developments around the clock, and are constantly assessing the situation and taking the necessary measures in accordance with developments, in a way that ensures the highest levels of readiness and preparedness. We are firmly confident that the UAE will emerge from this stage stronger and more solid, based on the vision of its wise leadership, the efficiency of its institutions, and the awareness of its society.
In conclusion, we affirm that the safety, security and stability of society is an absolute national priority, so we call on everyone to continue to adhere to the directives and instructions issued by the competent authorities, to obtain information exclusively from approved official channels, and not to circulate rumors or unreliable information, and we confirm that the public will continue to be informed of all developments with complete transparency and clarity.
